A BETTER BASKET
Put down that Peep! Did you know a Cadbury Creme Egg has over 150 calories and 20 grams of sugar. WOAH~! Completely Unnecessary.
Just because its Easter and candy fills every shelf in every store (ughh), doesn't mean you have to indulge. Here are some great ideas for a healthy and fit Easter Basket for the one you love.
Tip: Instead of using the fake plastic Easter Grass, fill the bottom of your basket with colorful gym towels. To make it extra special, personalize them with their initials.

THRIFTY THURSDAY PART DEUX
OK, 2 things I love. Good Food and a Good Find! A healthy wallet is a happy wallet!
So onto this find I found moments ago. Food Collages! Im sure you a wondering what one would do with a food collage?! This is my idea to you. First, find this talented woman on instagram/blog Julies Kitchen and ask about purchasing these amazing photos. Then I would hang them in a frame (see below)
& decorate a wall in either your kitchen or dining room (preferably an all white room).
How gorgeous are these?! I love a unique find. It inspires good health, good food and a really good idea.
MY FAVORITE |
THRIFTY THURSDAY
This brings back so much nostalgia.... As a child I would play with plastic animals along with my barbies. Id pretend that my Jem barbie kept a pet giraffe as a house pet. I was an odd child with an expansive imagination.
Anyway, seeing these genius decorations made me smile, knowing I can once again play with these little critters.
What you need:
Plastic Animals (you can find these at a novelty store/kids store/party store)
White Paint/Metallic Spray
Drill & Hot Glue Gun
Exacto Knife
Magnets
Directions: Let your imagination run wild!

CHANNEL YOUR INNER how do you say.....
She has a certain
“je ne sais quoi”……. Im sure you have heard of that phrase before. The French
use this often, which translates in English to “I don’t know what” or “I know
not what”. A quality or attribute that is indefinable, an elusive quality,
especially a charming one. Something very appealing, a “certain something”.
To me it’s a great word to describe a
confident woman with a beautiful attitude in life. Some may think my way of
thinking is old fashioned or restricted but I find it productive in my own whimsical
way.
Here are some ways you can bring out your inner je ne sais
quoi!
1.
Go for what you want. Dream Big.
2.
Allow certain aspects of your life to be
private, not everyone needs to know details.
3.
Learn a new language, take a painting class, try
a cooking class – try something new.
4.
Master something new
5.
Take Risks, healthy risks
6.
Never stop growing and yearning for knowledge
7.
Stand up for yourself and say “no” when you don’t
agree. Have your own voice (in a polite way of course)
8.
Pay no mind to naysayers and follow the path
best created by and for you
9.
Be respected and respect others
10.
Quality outweighs quantity, always.
11.
Nurture your relationships in all aspects
12.
Be Presentable at all times, nothing more
appealing than a well put together woman
13.
Be a lady. Embrace all forms and types of femininity
14.
Follow through on tasks and practice self-discipline.
Commit to something and get it done
15.
Make your everyday chores more ritual than
routine. Enjoy your local market when grocery shopping, put on some music when
cleaning and pick up some seasonal flowers for your space. Do your everyday
mundane tasks with a bit more sparkle.
16. Listen to your inner voice, the same voice that keeps calling and directing you to somewhere/someplace
17. Allow "me time".
18. Engage interesting people in conversation
19. Ignore stereotypes & revel in your imperefections - they make you unique.
Remember the most important tip is to live your own life
with purpose & shine, Appreciation and respect in everything you do. Hold your head high
& know in your heart that everything
you do comes from passion and let it radiate it to those around you. au revoir!

HIP HOP
Check out some really awesome DIY Easter projects, from easy to slightly complicated- I hope these DIY projects inspire you to make Easter this year that much more special....
DIY Party: Glitter Confetti Eggs
Confetti eggs (aka Cascarones) are like mini pinatas for your head. Traditionally, hollowed out eggs are broken over the head of a friend, showering them with confetti….and supposedly good luck (but definitely confetti).
We decided to shake things up in our hunt this year by turning it into more of a game. You still fill most of the eggs with confetti (or birdseed, or, in our case, Fruity Pebbles since they still look like confetti but I don’t feel as bad about leaving them in the park for birds to nibble). But – one of the eggs in the batch is filled with gold glitter, and whoever ends up with the head full of glitter gets an awesome prize (besides all the good luck they have coming to them).
Party Rules
* Hide your confetti eggs as you would normal eggs, and let your friends go hunting for them.
* Once everyone has collected the eggs (or as the eggs are found – your choice), the *kindly* smashing upon heads begins.
* No throwing eggs! Proper egg-smashing etiquette requires your hand to come in contact with the other person’s head so that you aren’t hitting anyone too hard or poking anyone’s eyes out.
* The lucky winner who gets the glitter egg smashed on their head goes home with the grand prize of the day. I’m always a fan of large quantities of fine chocolate, but you can get creative with what the prize will be.
Variations: If you’re really feeling feisty (and don’t mind a messier activity), I think it would be fun to leave a few eggs raw, just to keep things interesting (and provide some real motivation for running from the egg smashers coming toward you). Or, really shake it up and try things like jello filled eggs, or powdered sugar filled eggs, or whatever you’ve dreamed of dumping on someone’s head.
MY TUESDAY TRUTH
Over the
last 2 years Ive decided to cut out meat, poultry, gluten and dairy from my
diet. My decision was based primarily on personal health reasons and a strong disgust for
the way animals are treated in factory farms.
I'm an imperfect pescatarian. I slip sometimes. & there are times when the “cheese
plate” wins. There are times at social gatherings when meat is the only main
course and my hunger pangs give in & even when the chocolate lava cake just so
happens to overflow into my mouth....ahhh sugar - so good yet so bad.
90% of
the time I make the right choices for me. Yes me, not you - not them.. For me.
So, why judge me when I choose a salad over meat? Why judge me when I kindly decline an alcoholic drink or cookie from the office party? Can you let me be?!
I cant tell you how
many times Ive had people tell me “You are making me feel guilty” or “Its just a
taste” or “You are no fun”… I'm sorry, but when did eating a certain food equate to fun?
I'm judged from others
for treating my body good & choosing health first. Weird huh? No matter how many times I get weird
looks when I'm guzzling down a green smoothie, I feel
good knowing I'm doing what’s best for me and my body. I don’t push my lifestyle
on anyone, if you want to join in with me then kudos to you for making the
healthier choice. I don’t preach & I don’t like confrontation. Imagine every
time you took a bite of your burger I would make a comment like “Ugh, you are killing
yourself” or “Wow, that is gross”! Imagine how annoying that would be…
So todays rant is just
that. A rant. Take what you want from it but I hope if you are one of those who comment about others eating habits, maybe you will think before you speak.
Everyone is entitled to their
own. Don’t knock another because its not your way.....
& on that note…. Its
time for a salad. Good Day!
HOW TO TUESDAY
This is one of my favorite make up looks - the winged liner and red lip combo. Universally flattering on any skin color and any age. Its Old Hollywood meets Parisian girl. Marilyn Monroe meets Scarlett Johansson - to me its the epitome of sexy for a very special occasion.
Although flattering, its not easy to replicate. Those who dare try on their own can teeter on well, clown face.... while others teeter on street walker. You need to find a balance when wearing these together. The key here is to keep the eye liner minimal and blot blot blot those lips to lessen the intesnisty of the red.
I absolutely love this sultry look. Ive added some how to's below for you to try, let me know how it goes!
TIP: Try your local Sephora for free samples of different reds to play with before settling on "the color".
TIP #2: Lightly sweep/blot on gold toned gloss in the middle part of your pout to enhance your lips as well as lightly dust on a nude shimmer on your cupids bow for an extra pout effect.
