& IM OFF!

Another Friday is upon us! & as I had noted in an earlier post, I mentioned that I will be changing my blog URL, layout and name effective today.......but to be honest with you I just haven't had the time. Work has had me crazy and I haven't had the time to devote to making the changes, so consider the changes to be postponed until further notice. So sorry guys!

Ok back to my post

Fathers Day is this Sunday and I hope each and everyone of you have something special planned for the #1 man in your life. I will be visiting New Jersey this weekend and spending time with family myself.

This past week, I added a very special post for my dad, click here. Love you pops!

I also included a new style inspiration wardrobe must to include in your wardrobe arsenals and a really handy vitamin chart to help you get all your daily V's in.

So I'm off to New Jersey and hoping for some sun, beach time and memories to be made.

Find time to enjoy your friends/family and fathers out there. Stay fit and make healthy choices. oh & make sure you tell your dad's just how much you love them!!!

See you all Monday!

STYLE INSPIRATION SERIES: Part 5

The blazer. My all year round staple piece. On days when I just feel like throwing on an old pair of jeans and tee but still want to look chic my blazers are my perfect go-to items.

Blazers are not just for the office, try wearing one over your favorite short shorts or with your skinny jeans and tee.  This is a must must must must in any color. Start with a black or dark navy and move onto colors in all different fabrics. A beige works just as great as a black blazer too! Please remember to make sure the fit is perfect - this is an item that should tailored for that extra special fit.

Invest in timeless pieces, and you’ll never be at a loss for what to wear for whatever occasion and season.

Check out some ways I wear my blazers...

TO DAD (s)

As independent as I have always been, I will forever be my daddy's little girl. My dad is a stand up man. My father for as far back as I can remember was always a hard worker, and managed to raise 2 children as a single parent. Worked 2 jobs to give us everything we needed and wanted & for that I  can’t thank him enough. I’m forever grateful for the sacrifices he made for his children.  So, this list goes out to a man I was blessed to call my dad - just some reasons why I love my dad as much as I do.

1.       Hard worker – I don’t know of a man that could have done what he did as a young single parent.
2.       His honesty. He will give it to you straight up – he taught me that one
3.       His heart. He wears it on his sleeve and as the saying goes: like father like daughter ;)
4.       His eyes. The way he looks at those he loves with love in his eyes (my only wish is that I had his baby blues)
5.       His patience. I mean, I’m his daughter – enough said.
6.       He is strict. & while I used to strongly disagree and fight him tooth and nail, I have come to appreciate his ways and how it helped shape my life.
7.      He is funny. Like really funny. He will make a poker face smile from ear to ear. & he doesn’t try to - he just has such a great sense of humor.
8.       The man can dance. You don’t have to ask him twice to dance with you.
9.       He can sing too. Doo Wop music runs through his blood.
10.   He is really really good at sports - I did not take after him. lol
11.   He is a good storyteller. I look forward to the day when he shares the same stories with his grandkids
12.   He is grateful for what he has in his life.
13.   He married a woman just as special as he - & I couldn’t be more blessed to have both.
14.   His chickensoup. Hands down the best.
15.   He can have a good time just about anywhere he goes
16.   He is not a fighter although he did serve our country in Vietnam - The man is a gentle soul.
17.   He is a looker and a dresser. Sharpest dressed dad I know!
18.   He loves to travel and I love to hear about their trips together
19.   He moved his family to a better area so we could have a better life
20.   Christmas morning with him is the best, he loves to see us light up.
21.   His hair is always in place – with a comb in his back pocket ready to go!
22.   His laugh. It’s contagious.
23.   His hands – the hands I remember holding as a little girl when I needed his support.
24.   He is my father and he is perfect
25.   I still can call him daddy
26. He sat through every dance recital & made up dance routine in the house and always made me feel like s shining star.
27. We love the same music. I can jam out with my dad like we are from the same era.
28. His height and weight. He has always been in tip top shape and taught me how to lift weights at a young age. The man can eat what he wants and doesnt gain a pound - I did not take after him with this one....
29. He is my dad
30. My #1 idol

With love forever, your little girl.

& As I wipe my tears from typing this list, I managed to compile a gift guide to help make your shopping trip a little easier.

BRINGING CURVES BACK TO VOGUE: Kate Upton

Diane von Furstenberg calls Upton the perfect role model, representing the idea that you should “embrace who you are”—curves included. “Two things are extremely attractive,” she says. “Health is beauty, and confidence is beauty.”

Go on Diane! I love this....

Her trainer, David Kirsch, taught her the following advice: To eat anything that flies or swims plus veggies.

Michael Kors said, “When I look at Kate’s figure I think, This is a person who’s enjoying life. It harks back to the seventies, when we first had models like Patti Hansen and Christie Brinkley. They were sexy, but they were also athletic. And I think that Kate is very much that. You see her, and her skin is glowing; she’s got a gorgeous smile. It’s optimistic. It’s not about a sad girl on the corner. It’s about a girl who’s enjoying herself.”

MONDAY SHARE

Welcome back to the grind! This past weekend was one of my favorites thus far. Spending time with my family, close friends and all the babies just brings tears to my eyes, literally. Yes, I'm a major sap.

This past weekend was chock full of great times: walks in the park, brunch in the UES, QT in New Jersey for a grad party, baby kissing and baby squeezing, long walks with Lola (see how happy she is below) and dancing the night away last night. Perfect Weekend.

Here is a song that brought us out to the dance floor singing every word last night....

Hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to kick ass this week. Find time to schedule your workouts in, plan your meals and complete your to do's.
Welcome back :)
