THANKFUL TUESDAYS

With Thanksgiving around the corner it is a good time to be grateful for your life and all that you have. Hearing others complain is one of my biggest pet peeves. If you want to have a good day, make it better. Far too many people in this world feel as if the world owes them... as if they are entitled. Its an ugly trait.

Today I learned that my healthcare will be going up significantly.... I thought "This is ridiculous" & started to bi^%& to myself.... I took a deep breath and switched my thinking. Ok, so its going up in price but I'm thankful to have insurance. Thankful I have the opportunity to have health insurance.

Try being grateful for the little things in life and see how much better your day can turn around. Do you want to be happy? Be it.

Here is a list you can start with.

  • Wake up and tell yourself "Its going to be a beautiful day"
  • Smile when you see your loved ones and friends. Wrap your arms around them with love and warmth.
  • Stop worrying about tomorrow. If you do the right thing and work hard you can prepare for whatever comes your way.
  • Say " I love you " to the ones you love.
  • Learn manners. A simple "thank you", "excuse me" and a "please" are words to always use.
  • Encourage others with a simple compliment
  • When you are overworked be thankful you have that job
  • When the house is a pig pen, be thankful you have a home
  • Be thankful for the every day blessings in life.
  • Offer to help those in need before they ask you
  • Show gratitude when others do kind things for you
  • When you feel like complaining, take a deep breathe and remind yourself of 3 blessings in your life
  • Be thankful. Don't expect the world to be handed to you.
What are some ways you can become more thankful in your everyday life? Id love to hear some I can add to the list.

Have a better day!

PRE - MADE SMOOTHIES

As a busy woman, mornings are quite regimented for me. It’s the calm before the storm in terms of my to do’s.

My mornings have been consisting of Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Protein Oatmeal (1 egg white added and almond butter to top) but unfortunately I've noticed a few extra lb’s have been adding on. Juicing is a great way to get my vitamins in and have a wholesome meal but it’s just too time consuming each morning. My 2nd best bet is a fresh morning smoothie.

Smoothies are simple and healthy(so as long as you don’t just fill it up with only fruits).

We all know how simple and healthy smoothies are. I love that you could throw in whatever you have on hand into a blender and you’re sure to end up with something delicious and health friendly. You could even add in super healthy things like hemp hearts, almonds and flax seed to pump up the vitamins.

To cut back in time here is a great tip. Prepackage and freeze your smoothie ingredients.

For instance this is how I do mine:

1 Zipock bag contains a heaping handful of spinach, a few strawberries or blueberries, flax seeds, scoop of protein powder and a ½ cup of quick dry oats. Make 5 bags on Sunday night for the work week or a month if you have room.

Since all the ingredients are frozen, you’ll want to add a good amount of liquids (about 1.5 cups) into the blender before you blend it up. You could use water, coconut water, milk, soy milk or almond milk. If you have a really good blender, it’ll whirl through the frozen fruits no problem. If your blender can’t handle the solids, try taking the zip lock bag out of the freezer and into the fridge the night before. If you’re using this method, there’s no need to add liquids to your smoothie.

& there you have it. A quick and healthy breakfast for a woman on the go.

What do you like in your smoothies? Im always looking for a new taste combo.
