IF ONLY.....

“If only…” These two words paired together create one of the saddest phrases in the English language.

Here are some bad choices that can lead you to this awful phrase of regret & ways to elude them.

1. Wearing a mask to impress others. When a person spends too much time on impressing others they essentially lose their true self. So don’t fear the misjudgments of others, you know in your heart who you are and what is true to you. You don’t have to be perfect or pretend everything is perfect to impress people. Let them be impressed and inspired by the real you and how you deal with your imperfections.

2. Keeping Negative Company: Negative people are draining. Don’t let them get to you. When you remember that being around negative people is truly a choice, you can make a conscious effort to rid yourself of that kind of company. Allow yourself to be in the company of people that bring compassion instead of anger and patience instead of constant anxiety.

3. Avoiding change. You have to let go of old to make room for new. If you want change in your life take new steps for success. If you haven’t succeeded maybe it’s because you have been stuck in the same old routine and have yet to welcome change.

4. Giving up when things get too tough. If life or moments don’t unfold the way they should or how you expect them to, don’t be disheartened or give up. Learn what you can from the growing pains and move on. The one who continues even if they feel like they have failed will eventually be led to a better place. Keep on pushing.

5. Micromanaging. Life needs to be felt not strangled. Sometimes you have to let life happen without worry and micromanagement. Learn to let go a little. Take a deep breath. Everything in life is in perfect order whether you understand it yet or not. It just takes some time to connect all the dots.

6. Settling for less than you deserve. Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you could ever imagine to stand taller than you were ever before. Learn from it & don’t take crap. You deserve good things.

7. Procrastinating. Stop waiting for tomorrow. We always think we have more time than we do. Then one day we wake up and realize we lost that time. Stop making excuses and get to work. Your “you” tomorrow will thank you.

8. Laziness. Nothing good comes from the idea that the world owes you anything. You owe the world to be the best you possible. Stop daydreaming and start doing.

We can’t go back in time and redo our lives. Make better choices today and your future self will thank you.

What are some "IF ONLY'S" you would add to this list? I'd love to hear....
